Very interesting interview on the Today Show this morning (May 12, 2008), with two couples and Willie Jessop of the YFZ ranch, discussing their efforts to see their children.
One mother said that she has a daughter in state custody who is 23, but who the state of Texas insists is 15 or 16 years old. She says her daughter has a birth certificate and a driver's license, and that she herself submitted her own driver's license and attested to her daughter's age, but the state will not accept any of the identification as legitimate.
What other kind of evidence can any person offer as to the age of an individual? Age is not something that DNA can establish...
The families said that their children have been scattered throughout Texas, notwithstanding declarations from CPS that they would work to keep siblings together.
Follow this link, Polygamy sect parents say state has scattered children, and then click on the video segment with Meredith Viera. There is also a second clip with Ann Curry, where she asks the parents questions from emails.

Down the road, it will become quite interesting, in a civil complaint case in which all the parents file claims against the state, to hear of the "forged documents" the CPS has received from the parents.
I haven't heard of any yet, beyond the state's speculation that ALL are forged.
My husband and I watched and continue to be enraged at the violation of the rights of these people. We will continue to speak out against it and pray that their children will be returned to them.
